Is it cheaper to have third party or fully comprehensive car insurance? Nearly three quarters of motorists guess wrong

With car insurance premiums on the rise, keeping a vehicle on the road is becoming more and more expensive.

But millions of drivers may be putting themselves even more out-of-pocket by selecting inferior cover, naively believing it is the cheapest option.

That's according to new research by uSwitch, which claimed that 72 per cent of people mistakenly believe fully comprehensive cover is more expensive than a third party policy - and that is no longer the truth.
