Looking for cheapest spot to fill up? Asda and other supermarkets continue to lead the way with fuel prices up to 5p a litre cheaper

June 22, 2016

Want to save money on your fuel? Then it's best to avoid buying petrol and diesel from major players like BP, Esso, Texaco and Total and instead head straight for the big four supermarkets, data shows.

Unleaded is on average 3.3p a litre cheaper at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco compared to rivals as motorists face a 10p a litre surge in pump prices since February.

Since mid-May, the average price of petrol has gone up another 2.4p to 111.58p a litre while diesel now averages 111.80p a litre, up 2.7p from a month ago.
